Announced at Mobile World Congress 2010, the Motorola Cliq XT is Moto’s fifth Android offering in the United States and T-Mobile’s fifth overall. It offers a sleek design with a capacity of Swype courtesy onscreen keyboard, more complete and connected media player, and a better performance than the Motorola Backflip.

The Cliq XT is taller, wider, thinner, and lighter than the Cliq at 4.59 inches tall by 2.33 inches wide by 0.48 inch thick and 4.4 ounces. Without the sliding keyboard, slimmer profile of the XT is easier to slide your smartphone into a pocket and is lightweight, while still feeling solid.

The Cliq XT shares the same 3.1-inch HVGA (320×480 pixels) capacitive touch screen as the Cliq. It is sufficiently bright and clear, but lacks the sharpness and vividness of some of the higher-end devices. 3.1 inch diagonal screen content is condensed and flattened text may appear small.

The feature set of Motorola Cliq XT is very similar to the Cliq, as Motoblur smartphones and run the Android software 1.5. One cool thing you get on the XT Cliq the right of the door is a renovated music player which integrates a handful of related services. From within the player, you can now listen to music ShoutCast radio, identify songs with SoundHond, and search and view music videos on YouTube or GoTV. Of course, you still receive the dedicated YouTube application, and other standard applications for Android and offerings, including Google Maps, Google Talk, Gmail, Google voice search, and the Quickoffice suite.

The Cliq XT has a 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash, digital zoom and auto focus. You can also record MPEG video at 24 frames per second with resolution HVGA. There are standard editing options such as color effects, white balance and image quality. The smart phone supports GPS so you can geotag photos, and add custom labels please.

The Motorola Cliq XT comes with an AC adapter, USB cable, an extra back plate in a purple metallic, a wired stereo headset, a 2GB microSD card, and reference material. For more add-ons, please check our cell phone accessories, ringtones, and help page.
