Having a mobile phone come mp3 player is hardly a revelation in todays world however more often that not a suitable candidate is generally one of the ‘high end’ mobiles. Considering that the Nokia x2 is retailing at under £100 – actually it can be found for as low as £79 – we weren’t really expecting much on the multimedia side of things. However, the Nokia x2 took us by surprise. You can pick up some cheap phones by taking a look at what is available online.

In days gone by most mobiles came with the larger audio jack meaning that you had to use the manufacturers headphones. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the headphones included were actually good and not of inferior quality. Thankfully those days are gone as most mobiles now come with the standard 3.5 mm audio jack and the Nokia x2 is no exception. Off to a good start already. You can find the best Nokia X2 deals by comparing them online.

Furthermore the Nokia x2 features a nice media player with the ability to create and edit your own playlist as well as use the pre installed ones – most played, recently added etc… Sound quality wise and the Nokia x2 is pretty impressive, while the stereo speakers won’t be pumping out bassy tunes they are good for what they are and the headphone quality coming from the mobile is as good as any mp3 for the same price. The fact that you can expand the memory on the Nokia x2 to a nice 16 GB – the same as the iPod Nano – means that it is through it’s mp3 capabilities that the Nokia x2 comes alive.

For a budget end mobile phone the Nokia x2 certainly took us by surprise with it’s multimedia and a 3.5 mm audio jack, a nice easy to use mp3 player, good storage and an FM Radio means that the Nokia x2 more than holds it’s own when it comes to mobile phones come mp3 players.
